IRS can and will levy any payment or cash source they can find:
- paychecks
- bank accounts - checking and savings. Any account with the taxpayer's Social Security number tied to it is subject to the levy, even if it is a savings account of a minor child or an account that has the taxpayer as just a signer.
- IRAs
- other retirement accounts
- Social Security payments
- other government payments
- brokerage accounts
- contractors' payment sources
- other payment sources that would issue 1099s
Each and every one of these cash sources will be levied as quickly as possible by IRS once it becomes allowable for them to do so.
